Sandra Schatanoff-Weitzman, LCSW, M.Ed., EMDR Trained

I have a genuine passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater balance, clarity, and self-understanding. My clinical training began at the University of Delaware, where I earned my first graduate degree and gained meaningful experience providing therapeutic support to students, including my work with Student Services for Athletes. I later moved to New York City to complete my degree in Clinical Social Work at NYU. Living and practicing there for over a decade allowed me to work in a wide range of settings, including high school health centers, colleges and universities, major hospitals, and community-based organizations. I am grateful to return to Delaware and to be a part of Counseling Associates of Delaware, where I currently offer Telehealth (virtual) services.

I work with populations that range from college age to seasoned adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment-related challenges, self-esteem concerns, personal growth and identity development, racial identity and diversity-related issues, relationship concerns, separation and divorce, career transitions, grief and loss, and women’s health-related concerns.

My therapeutic approach is culturally responsive, strengths-based, and collaborative. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR techniques ,and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients process experiences, build resilience, and create lasting change. I believe it is a privilege to walk alongside each client, honoring their lived experiences and supporting their right to live authentically, free from fear or judgment, in the pursuit of balance, connection, and fulfillment.

If you are considering therapy or feel ready to take the next step, I welcome the opportunity to work with you. Together, we can create a supportive space to explore your goals and begin moving toward meaningful, positive change.

Just for today, do not worry. Just for today, do not anger. Just for today, be humble. Just for today, be honest. Just for today, be compassionate towards yourself and others.” -Buddhist Monk Mikao Usui
