I believe that every person has the right and ability to be happy, that, at the end of the day, every person longs to be loved, accepted, and understood. In my work with teens and young adults, I have found that a key to thriving is through self-compassion and stepping away from shame. Shaming yourself into changing isn’t the same as healing. As a certified yoga teacher, I believe cultivating a sense of awareness in the body and mind is crucial to understanding your thoughts, emotions and their impacts. I am passionate about moving the body in ways that feel good for you to reduce stress and build a practice of self-love. I practice a humanistic approach to acceptance and commitment therapy. Blending mindfulness practices with actionable steps towards our core values.
I obtained my Master’s Degree in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from The University of Chicago. I have been working in Delaware since 2013 and have been working with teens and emerging adults in school-based therapy since 2015. I own a farm in South Jersey, where I live with my husband, my dog, 6 potbelly pigs, and a whole bunch of chickens.
